SAMS – Gender & Inclusion Statement
Formal one‑page statement for Horizon Europe consortia
Purpose & Scope
SAMS is a Norwegian innovation cluster advancing sustainable and autonomous mobility across land, sea and air. This statement sets out our organisational commitments to gender equality, diversity and inclusion (G&I) in our own operations and in all EU project collaborations.
Core Commitments
We commit to: (1) Equal opportunity and non‑discrimination in recruitment, governance and project participation; (2) Inclusive collaboration, ensuring equitable access to information, decision‑making and resources; (3) Awareness of gender and broader diversity considerations in project design, stakeholder engagement and communication; (4) Proactive prevention of harassment, bullying and bias; (5) Transparency in partner and supplier expectations regarding respectful conduct.
Implementation & Responsibilities
The CEO is responsible for this statement. The Project Lead for each EU action ensures that inclusive practices (e.g. balanced panels where feasible, accessible materials, inclusive meeting etiquette) are applied. All staff and contributors share accountability for respectful behaviour.
Monitoring & Reporting
Given SAMS’s size, we apply proportionate monitoring: (i) annual qualitative review of inclusion practices; (ii) tracking of gender balance in events, advisory bodies and project roles where applicable; (iii) identification of corrective actions with timelines. Key takeaways may be shared with consortium coordinators upon request.
Safe Environment & Grievances
SAMS maintains a zero‑tolerance stance on harassment and discrimination. Concerns can be raised confidentially to the CEO (with privacy‑respecting handling, prompt follow‑up, and referral to partner procedures when incidents occur within joint activities).
Compliance & Alignment
SAMS complies with applicable Norwegian and EU legislation on equality and non‑discrimination. While small private entities are not required to maintain a formal Gender Equality Plan under Horizon Europe, SAMS voluntarily upholds the principles of gender equality, diversity and inclusion in all consortium work.
